In Windows, for example, you could do Winkey + left/right arrow to move the active application window to the left/right monitor (display) This is throwing me off because I don't know how different installation means will work alongside when it comes to application update/removal/etc. ![]() Should I prefer official installers from the developer's website when available? Should I use Homebrew/MacPorts instead? If it is a mixture when should I use what? GUI app with the official installer and CLI apps with a package manager? It seems that the way Homebrew handles itself, despite being the most popular option, is not the best (see here and here*), but on the other hand, it looks like that MacPorts does not have a native ARM package (I couldn't find confirmation of this on their website). I am used to either downloading the installer from the official website (Windows) or using a package manager (Linux), but it seems that on macOS is not a matter of one or the other but a mixture of two or more.Īs a developer myself, I do have my concerns, though.
